Privacy policy

Keywatch is a Mac app made by Metin Jakup. It is built so that your data stays on your Mac.

What Keywatch stores

The apps, keywords and countries you track, and everything Keywatch collects about them (ranks, popularity estimates, reviews, chart positions, listing drafts, reports), are stored in a database on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Keywatch. Deleting that folder deletes it all. We never receive a copy.

What leaves your Mac

• Apple. To check ranks and look up apps, Keywatch sends search terms, country codes and App Store app IDs to Apple's public App Store endpoints. Apple's privacy policy applies to those requests.
• Keywatch's license server (Keywatch Pro only). When you activate a license, Keywatch sends your license key, a random device ID and your Mac's name. The server stores the device ID and name to enforce the two-Mac limit, and checks your order's status with Paddle. About once a week Keywatch checks the key is still valid.
• Update check. Keywatch asks our website once a day whether a newer version exists. Our hosting provider receives your IP address as part of this request.

What we don't do

The Mac app has no accounts, analytics or advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not receive your tracked apps, keywords or ranks. Search terms are sent to Apple as described above.

Website analytics

With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics to measure page visits, pricing views, download clicks, checkout starts, checkout completion, checkout closures or errors, support-link clicks and install-command copies. Google receives page paths, browser and device information, and your IP address as part of the connection. Analytics cookies distinguish visits. We disable advertising personalization and Google signals.

Google Analytics loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Rejecting analytics does not affect downloads or purchases. You can change your choice using Analytics settings in the footer. We remember your choice for 180 days. Withdrawing consent stops future collection and removes this site's analytics cookies; it does not erase data already collected.

We exclude the license thank-you page and API routes from analytics. We do not send license keys, order identifiers, URL queries or fragments to Google Analytics. The Mac app does not include Google Analytics. See Google's privacy policy.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle's checkout script loads on this website only when you click Buy. Paddle receives your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy; we receive your email and the order so we can support you.
